As a partner of Gale R. Rhoades, I found that by using the information that he had gleaned from years of research we was able to make several very profitable discoveries. Together we walked the Uinta Mountains in search of his Great Grandfathers gold. We had fun. I miss him greatly.

After reading this book I love going into Eastern Utah. I always drive slowly along the road and look to the mountains trying to find the clues to the Lost Rhodes Mine. Have been searching for a copy and the new followup The Gold of Carre Shinob.

I have yet to find a book that has the details like this one. This book is your complete guide on fishing,trails,springs etc... This backcounty book is as enjoyable as the mountain range is beautiful. I have be packing this range for years and I promise you will not be sorry !

This book is priceless considering the amount of information it provides. It saved us many hours of research, and helped select a great base camp for our backpacking trek.

I was a little disapointed with this book..Out of 106 pages it has only 24 that actually describe the lakes in the area. There are over 60 pages of hand drawn maps- that's what topo maps are for. Doesn't mention any streams that are worthwhile. THought it would have had more information.

I tried several of the backcountry lakes in this book last summer. I caught and released many limits of cutthroat and brook trouts. This book is great for finding fishing hot spots, and it taught me how to fish the various alpine waters. It is small enough to easily carry with me, and the maps are helpful.

This book is a Marvel! It taught me about the things that are not taught to us in History class. The Native American Holocaust (The American Holocaust) has never even been mentioned in any of my classes. The fact that Columbus really was no hero and that he really did NOT find America. The Spanish came here to get away from the disease and famine of Spain and ended up spreading disease and misery to the Native Americans when they came. They killed off millions and millions of people who in some ways were more civilized than the Spanish were when they came over. I may only be 17 but I think that not teaching and educating children that Columbus was a hero after reading this book for a term paper subject that I picked, my eyes were opened to the fact that we celebrate a man that created the Holocaust even before World War 2

It seems that all Boren has managed to do in this book is rehash what has already been written and copy letters that have already been published. If you have read Footprints or any George Thompson books you will be sorely disappointed in this one. No new info, just a redo to generate some $$ while Boren is in jail. And by the way, how is he writing this when he has been in jail for the past 10+ years. This is the randoms ramblings of a man in prison too long.
